Jeunes mères

Less miserabilist than expected given Dardenne bros' streak since 2014. Quite a collection of social vulnerability situations crushing young moms' ideas of future in late capitalist Europe. It somehow doesn't feel world-ending or hopeless and it works more as a slice of life panel with multiple stories following these women navigating this mad world while having to make difficult choices and the importance of State institutions to aid them along the way. Not particularly absorbing, but it also doesn't try to be anything more than what it already is.
