Marty Supreme
Exhilarating, frantic and exhausting anxiety (not adrenaline) shot that goes way beyond the usual 'character study on the american myth of the self-made man'. 'I'm like Hitler's worst nightmare', Tyler's character, the obsession of a young jewish man who won't accept any defeat. Chalamet's performance is really special, perfectly embodying Safdie's urban chaos in a narrative somewhat more 'organized' -- for the better and for the worse -- than Uncut Gems or Good Time, as a film with a much more recognizable 'story' in the sense it's not just the main character running errands and all sorts of crazy shit to raise some money to go to Japan, but it's actually Safdie's frenzy applied to a very traditional sports drama, certainly one with unbelievable layers of detail. It demands a rewatch.
