It makes good use of tonal shifts every time Ravache starts saying something absurd, always a reminder that this is definitely not to be taken seriously. Not that we really needed to be remembered of that, given how stupid the main characters manage to be in such a consistent fashion. That said, this would be a complete borefest without Santos and Leal's overacting -- gotta love her scene singing Marília Mendonça. Last third hits rock bottom when it becomes a lazy delivery of shockers. Hated the utterly generic depiction of jogo do bicho in Rio de Janeiro's everyday life.
