It's basically a mom -- Nomacce as always the most elegantly sinister presence in brazilian cinema -- grieving the loss of her daughter and feeding hungry ghosts with the dead bodies of visitors at the hotel she manages and these miserable souls inhabit. Fav scene: Nomacce teaching a teen how to use peripheral vision so she can see spirits.
