The Shadow's Edge
an ode to old timers and their pupils -- the good and the bad. it takes a while to actually start and it feels overcomplicated in some spots, but works beautifully as a pretty entertaining and solid late jackie chan vehicle, with such a lowkey emotional depth. my favorite moments: when the tactical surveillance operations are organized on screen through mise-en-scène; trickery and deception as (good) acting weapons by people on both sides of the law. action scenes don't look brilliant, but seem just good enough.
