- Korine's about vibes these days.
- The vibe here is an AI/Twitch/digital hellscape where demons live in the machine. And a rabbit.
- Though the chat specifically is quite silly, and you might find some of the imagery silly, this is like a horror movie.
- It's just about jump scares. It's just a horrifying vision of where we are. It hits on a fundamental, real level.
- The version with the narration about the bunny is the best version.
- At first, I thought some scenes went on too long. I just watched it for a third time and while I think there are a couple scenes where he needs to get on with it, I actually appreciate what was once a criticism the other times. It gives you time to read the chat, which is where most of the action is anyway.
- Awesome soundtrack that goes from more upbeat or pounding to downbeat and horror-tinged.
Mini Review: More experimental art piece stuff from Korine. Excellent Burial soundtrack. The chat is where most of the comedy is, because the rest of it is either horrifying or people lounging around during home invasions. Not hard to tell that it's about media/violence etc. in the digital age, but he leans so heavily into it that it's better than other movies trying to say the same thing. The IMPURE version with the narration about the rabbit is better than the PURE version without. Ethereal.
