Few notes:

- I dig these premises. It's like midnight radio, only this is podcasting. A person sits there, mostly alone (because her mom doesn't count and the guy she's podcasting with is elsewhere), listening to creepy shit during the night, and then it gets progressively creepier.

- I like that a lot because it feels so lonely.

- As for the narrative. It's not that I don't think there's mystery, because I did enjoy seeing how it was going to unfold. I liked intently listening to the audio files. I think the ending was intense (whereas the rest of the movie is just creeping dread/tension). It didn't overstay its welcome and how it's told was good.

It's just that at the end of the day, it's another demon just invading someone's life story. But I'm not super hard on it because at the end of the day, what's left to be mined in horror? There are certainly things you can do but there's a reason so many people deal with haunted houses and the like, because coming up with original premises is hard.

- So this movie kind of forgoes that and just focuses on presentation, which is wonderful.
Mini Review: I really enjoyed this, though I do agree with some criticisms. I guess they just don't bother me much. While I enjoyed the ending quite a bit, I do agree that the narrative itself is not much. But it gets by on the vibes because it looks, sounds and feels oppressive. The acting is fine, there are some cool shots even though it basically all takes place in a house, but it really is the sound design that elevates this. It's so good.
