The Cat in the Hat

Holy crap, this movie. I can totally see why it got the reputation that it has. The set design looked like it wanted to do something unique with its bright and vibrant colors, but it still somehow looked uninspired. The choreography was super clunky and the acting was horrible from virtually everyone except for MAYBE Joan's boss and there was very little chemistry between them. The Cat's design looked so disgusting. Mike Myers looked like he was just miserable being in this movie. His acting made his character look like he was so pissed that he was here as evidenced by the overly sarcastic nature he talked and behaved-- almost as if he was here against his will. His constant laughing sounded like he was in so much agony. I find it so hard to believe that any regular person, let alone child, would ever want to be around him; I'm sure most people would be terrified to even be in the same building as him. The fish added virtually nothing to the movie; he could've easily been cut from the movie all together. The only thing I kinda liked, believe it or not, were a couple jokes from Myers. They gave me just enough chuckles to save the movie from being a 1/10, so it's definitely a rung up from Space Jam 2. I didn't think it could actually be that bad. I just had to see it for myself. And I did, so now I'm in the majority. Which seat can I take?
