Barton Fink

To be a true writer is to accept isolation. It is to consider yourself important enough to be heard, smart enough to be understood, and strange enough to stand out. Just like Fink, a writer has to process every input and overanalyze every narrative, finding inspiration in mundanity that threatens to strangle them at every turn. Barton Fink is the creative process brought to the screen, a harrowing journey through self-inflicted wounds and doubt. A cycle that never fails to leave its mark, but it imprints on your mind a longing to return, a sick addiction to suffering that will keep the incapacitated tapping away at their instrument for their entire lives. Most will never leave that dingy hotel room, straining to find contentment in flights of fancy between meaningless busywork that keeps the clock moving. Some get to the mountaintop and find that they've left all their supplies down below, struggling to find how they managed to climb so high. From personal experience, I wouldn't recommend rolling downhill.
