I thought it was smart, Marling and Batmanglij's work always is, and I liked the ending. But it felt way longer than it needed to be.

There are times where it is intriguing, but also a lot of things that just feel plodding. The ultimate resolution is unsatisfying and unearned.

First few episodes are quite intriguing and promising, but later on it becomes clear that this is just Nancy Drew for modern teens of all ages, packed with all the call signs like rich are bad, corporations are bad, capitalism is bad, cars is bad, meat is bad, cows is bad, global warning is bad and we're all dead, and now AI is, apparently, very bad also. Might be not that bad (sorry) per se if the flick weren't trying to look deeper than it is, but that'd be too much to ask from a teen.

Interesting journey let down by a clunky and unsubtle ending.

[spoilers] The Poirot format re-imagined for Gen-Z hipsters and it kinda works and feels fresh until the big reveal which is sadly far too predictably scooby-doo-ghost-in-the-machine to be worth the effort of following along. Shame really.
