It absolutely nails the look and feel of 60s BBC TV. The performances are uniformly excellent, with a special mention to Bradley's take on William Hartnell. It was a little bit jarring to feel as if we were seeing Verity's story, only to see her fade into the background and then out of the narrative altogether. It's hard to fault a docudrama for being TOO accurate though, especially with a subject matter as well-known as Doctor Who. HIGHLY recommended for fans of the series.

This is a more or less a documentary with the drama turned up to 11. As a fan it's interesting to see how the series came about. The last part is so overly dramatic that my eyes rolled out of their sockets. It's present as some great tragedy and the end of an era when he only played the part for 3 years. He didn't even die, he just fell ill.

A wonderfully eccentric and humorous retelling of the beginnings of British television's Sci-if Classic Doctor Who. Mark Gatiss' script is inclusive and brimming with warm wit and respect and the cast led by a remarkable David Bradley are excellent.

Very poignant and I loved the portrayal of Verity Lambert. A good part of the anniversary season.
