Artists and Models

Focusing on a movement running from historical personages as models (David) to the female nude (Ingres), to the male nude and horses (Géricault), this series presents an overlapping sequence in the history of European painting that was not yet modern art but was already wholly modern, or in other words, that was already operating under the sign of industrialisation but not yet of photography: an aesthetic shift in which the circuit binding artist, model and public was destined to come undone.
