Before he died, Dar's father gave a mysterious amulet to Tal, Dar's younger brother who is now king. Dar chances to rescue a family who seek the help of King Tal against Lord Agon, a sorcerer who has conquered their land. Dar obtains an audience for them with Tal, who rallies his troops to march against Agon in the morning. Alas, the young king is captured by Agon's crimson warriors during the night. Will Dar fall into Lord Agon's clutches when he comes to free his brother? (imdb)

Better than I hoped for. The final battle; Marc Singer vs. a combination of Earl Sinclair (from the Dinosaurs TV show) meets the bad guys from Hell Comes to Frogtown, is truly a spectacle to behold. Todd, Warner, Hess and Van Dien are all but wasted here -- despite how much scenery they chew.

After inter-dimensionaly "jumping the shark" in the Wings Hauser wig starring sequel, the Beastmaster franchise was banished to cable television, where it returned to its fantasy/adventure "sword & sorcery" roots, and brought back some OG characters played by some new B-movie stars. Maybe because this was the third straight Beastmaster movie I watched, but despite the attempts to rejuvenate the series, this felt like a lesser version of the original, but with a crazy dinosaur-man fight finale.
