Free Churro

“Free Churro” transcends animation. This isn’t just one of the best episodes of a cartoon. It’s one of the greatest episodes of television, period, standing alongside classics like The Sopranos’ “Pine Barrens” or Breaking Bad’s “Ozymandias.” It proves that animation can cut as deep as any prestige drama, and sometimes even deeper. “Free Churro” is a reminder of what TV at its very best can do: make us laugh, make and hurt. And in BoJack’s pain, we recognize something uncomfortably human.
