This show and Flapjack were certainly the bizarre, tripped-out brainchildren that lead to more fully realized and rooted efforts that appeared in Adventure Time and Steven Universe. That being said, series like Chowder certainly ushered in a new era for CN and American animation in general. Here, the nonsensical characters with flattened and concise animation create drama over hilariously weird situations. It wasn't compelling most of the time, but it was a unique/funny voice nonetheless.
