Curse of the Black Widow

Surprised Dan Curtis fans don't seem to talk about this. Although it has some cliches that come w/ a 70s tv movie (the private eye & his gal Friday could've easily gone on to a series back then), it has a mystery figure that misdirected me & I couldn't be sure who the Black Widow was until the movie let me know. What really works is that her backstory is unexpectedly complex & dark. Some great performances (esp Mills & Duke); final stinger; & spider efx, which are exceptional for the time/budget

There was an interesting story midst all the crap but it was a lot to wade through.
