There is something to be said about how authority affects our behavior, but this movie has a moronic view of this where they assume any kind of authority is enough for manipulation to work and does not consider the variable ways authority is presented and perceived. I had a hard time taking the "tragedy" seriously because the victims have zero common sense and would fall for Nigerian Prince scams. Not to mention it's extremely padded and repeats its core points making it tedious viewing.

Extremely repetitive, and it's really hard to sympathize with the managers who took these calls (not the victims, who seem to be all young kids). Also, that detective was dumb as fuck to immediately question the suspect before attempting surveillance.

Remarkable, but what is learned that wasn’t already covered in COMPLIANCE? Not much, and the three episodes waste a lot of time with repetitive statements, with the needless use of old newsreader video, and with try-hard attempts to create suspense, so that ultimately it seems itself to be exploitative. The perpetrator’s mistake was not to have realised that after 9/11 surveillance had become ubiquitous and that the idea that something could be “untraceable” was, at that point, hopelessly naïve.
