Empire

Liked this one. It's very properly made, no made-for-TV-looks... and the unfamiliar cast is pretty good too.

I usually love roman empire movies, but this one just grinds on and on and ultimately does not satisfy. There were a lot of good costumes but the script with poor story creation was unconvincing and the poor directing make it feel more like a soap opera than the epic roman adventure it should have been. It has some movie stars before they were famous, including Emily Blunt. Jonathan Cake was not good. I wanted to love this, but it needed better writing, better acting and more action.

Not a good epic. And I like epic. Very monotonous.
