Everything Sucks!

Based on just the first episode, it's literally just a sandwich made of cultural reference bread, stuffed full of cultural reference meat, topped with cultural reference cheese, and slathered with cultural reference condiments. There may be some story or character lettuce shreds in there, but hardly noticeable. I assume that they laid it on extra thick for the pilot and story/character come through more in later episodes, so I may give this a second shot at some point.

Call this one "Freaks and Geeks - Lite". It's mostly nostalgia turned up to 11, but the soundtrack is awesome and acts as a background character on the show. The young actors are likeable enough to warrant a full season watch, and the show breaks new ground here by having a 13 year old actress portray a 15 year old on the show. That's right...no more 30 year olds playing high school students (looking at you Luke Perry) Way to knock down those Hollywood barriers, Netflix!

I loved some characters more than others sometimes it was a little slow but overall good plot and valid watch
