Fallen Angels

The steamy, sudsy, irony-averse era of neo-noir inaugurated by BODY HEAT and ended by PULP FICTION gets a decent swan song in this anthology series derived almost entirely from midcentury crime fiction, sometimes overtly queered. Great look(s), deep bench (list here doesn't scratch it), some superb parts for black actors & women 35+. Danny Glover a moving Marlowe, Bonnie Bedelia a memorably sadistic cop (in one of Soderbergh's), and Bill Nunn & G. Esposito reunited as Walter Mosley characters.
