I saw two other installments of "Into the Dark" prior to this one, they both had twists, predicable ones, but twists nonetheless, so when this one played it straight the whole way through, I was downright disappointed. It wouldn't have been a problem if it wasn't a boring WE type TV movie plot too, but boring and unsurprising it certainly was. Shame on you Dermot Mulroney for whoring yourself out to shitty movies.

I agree with the rest of the reviewers that it was predictable to a fault. The acting is good. The plot is suspenseful at times but there just wasn't anything that was surprising. In a suspense movie, I expect to have the ball drop and have my breath taken away. When the ball dropped here, I said, "Duh." There were some cute illusions to The Shining but these moments couldn't save this mediocre movie. I enjoyed my time with it but I probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

It's just not very good from the very start, despite the obvious references -- The Shining shot of Nicholson screaming at the door lol. Pretty predictable, nearly lousy acting. At least there is gome fun gore fest in the end.
