After discovering that his next-door neighbor and ultimate dream girl, Judy (Pixie Lott), has suddenly moved away, hot-tempered, squeaky-voiced Fred Figglehorn (Lucas Cruikshank) sets out on a wacky adventure to find her and prove that he's way cooler than other kids think. Inspired by a popular YouTube Web series, this children's comedy casts professional wrestler John Cena as Fred's awesome dad. (Netflix)

You know you're in trouble when the best actor in a movie is John Cena.

Fred starts off as a squeaky-voiced ADHD childish idiot, but soon we realise he's a deeply-disturbed fantasist with a tenuous grasp of reality, driven by inner voices. It still sucks, but sucks slightly less when you realise the main character isn't just annoying, but deeply disturbed. It should be horrible, but there's something vaguely subversive about making a feelgood teen comedy based around such a protagonist. Having said that, it's awful and you should never watch it.

Good christ this may genuinely be the worst movie ever made.

This would have been a better movie if John Cena had broken Fred's neck when he first showed up, and the last hour of the movie had just been a static shot of Fred lying unconscious in traction.

If I hadn't have heard of this prior to watching it you could have told me it was a piece of surrealist satire and I would've thought it was a masterpiece. As a "comedy" it fails. Hard. I actually felt like giving up after watching.

It actually gave me the desire to shove a needle into my eye ball just to distract myself from the movie. This film is shot in documentary style with the camera continually on the bitchy, caffeine-high, squeaky-voiced, ADD, OCD, pubescent little rat of a tween-aged actor.

Top badass moment? This being the first film that's made me want to kill myself before it's even started; his screaming once you press Play Movie (DVD) - mathematically, the most annoying sound possible. Horrifyingly I laughed out loud at one point, which is so, so wrong; but it was the only way I could deal with the emotionally devastating fact that it's part of a trilogy. Fred: what the pump-action shotgun was invented for. 1 decapitation (but tragically it's not real), no cats or chainsaws.

This cunt had over one million subscribers on YouTube. Fuck Fred! Fuck YouTube, and Fuck Netflix for putting this in my recommendations list! If you need to torture someone A Clockwork Orange style for 80 minutes, this is the perfect movie!

The girlfriend likes to make me watch awful garbage on a regular basis so she can laugh at me for being pretentious enough to care about how shitty a movie is, and even with all that having prepared me, I still found this to be more crap than usual. It manages to represent everything obnoxious about the mainstream YouTube community and be woefully incompetent at providing laughs at the same time, which is really something, I suppose. Terrible garbage. Do not support this film.

All of the points go to John Cena, who is legitimately hilarious in this. The rest of it is just painful.

Let it be known that this was only watched because it was a child's choice. That being said, my brain hurts too much to comment more.

This film was on the fast track to my bottom 5 films of all time until one momentous pivotal scene that flipped the film around and made me take notice of it, upping it from contempt to mere loathing. I don't know if what they did was by accident or on purpose but in either case the echo of this one moment reverberates around but disappointingly, maddeningly, dissipates. This *could* be a work of genius - I just don't know for sure.

This could have worked, but the worst aspect of the whole film and this character - an irritable and ADD abrasiveness that celebrates a crass childishness rather than celebrate one's inner child - is what you're supposed to like, turning it into a painful experience to sit through. Neither does it help that Fred's voice at its whiniest sounds like a mouse being rubbed against a cheese grater.
