Gideon's Trumpet

Henry Fonda is worth seeing in this movie you probably remember clips from in high school, but the movie itself isn't good at all. Shoddy acting and a slow plot that never picks up leave this movie feeling like somebody pitched it too damn well. Oh well, its not a total waste of time but all you can really say is that it was good for Henry Fonda.

Not exactly a great film, but the true story is worth learning about.

I totally watched this in high school. It was better than doing work, I guess.

I didn't watch this movie in high school and I did enjoy it thoroughly, so I guess this movie should be banned from high schools or something? Jokes aside, it's simultaneously subtle and gripping. Henry Fonda is a joy to watch, and I have a feeling his performance inspired Mark Rylance's turn in Bridge of Spies.
