Well, I feel like this blew away whatever sex negativity I had left! It works basically on "Fifty Shades of Grey" type logic where it's a fun fantasy even when it doesn't follow real-life ethics of consent/RACK, so how much that bothers you will probably be the deciding factor in whether you like this. If you're up for the premise, the execution's great! I read the manga a while ago, think the anime improves on it. I guess I'm fine with sexual content, especially in shows w/ this much gay xD

The thing is, Utena *is* a magical girl protagonist. She fights out of love, protects her friends, and wants the world to be happy and good and children to believe in heroes. She slaps some sense into her enemies despite it being a strategically bad idea, and inspires people, and the fact that she's an intense sadist who gets off on pervy battle and punishing magical girls doesn't change that. This is a kinky smut show *and* a really smart love letter to the whole genre.
