Bookreaders safe no more

Upon rewatch I was shocked to find that Hardhome was my favorite episode of the series even though I thought it was already in decline. In a different world, this would have been the pivot from which the show turns towards a completely different second half. One chilling moment, with no dialogue, recontextualizes everything that came before it, as if to say, "You fools! It doesn't matter who sits on the pointy chair when death comes!"

Highlight of the season.
