Hobo

A quaint and fascinating character study. Interesting people, great scenery and appropriate music.

A grimy, straightforward documentary which not only introduces us to a pleasant, harmless chap whose life is riding aimlessly around on freight trains, but also holds up a mirror to America and the social problems which make this kind of life a reality for some. The philosophical protagonist, non-judgemental angle and scenic/musical interludes could serve as a fantastic template for any wannabe documentary film-maker. The antidote to Michael Moore films.
