Good structure and takes its time to show and discuss the work of a man who is probably the greatest artist and craftsman in cinematic history. At one point Bergman says that because THROUGH A GLASS DARKLY got positive reviews across the board, "probably too positive", the critics are likely to have come to this realisation in the meantime, and the new film will have to pay the price for it.

Does a pretty good job of capturing some of the qualities that cemented Bergman as one of the all-time greats, such as his patience, thoughtfulness and near peerless ability to relate to actors. It also dispels the myth of 'dourness', especially when he playfully turns the tables on Sjöman and starts enquiring about his profession. The overall impression one gets is of a talented and sensitive artist who likes to work with others in a relatively relaxed and unpretentious fashion.

Bergman doesn't look like a Great Genius. The Kubrick vibe is totally not there. He looks like some middle-aged guy who works in a hardware store. He has never been one of my all-time favorites -- I've always been more of a horror-movies guy, as y'all can see just by my icon -- but it is intriguing to watch a legendary director at work. This guy's an artist, all right. I would know that after half an hour of this movie, even if I had no idea who it was

I can't even look to Vilgot Sjöman's face; i hate this asshole. But it's an interessing documentary; is always nice to listen Bergman talking about his job.
