Merely entertaining fandom and yet still a good time at that. Silly stylized fun (some Spider-verse inspiration for sure). One scene with GIR had me rolling so extra points.

Stays true to the old show, I'm just not as into this style of humor nowadays.

It's tricky to do kids shows after a long hiatus. At the time that "Invader Zim" originally came out, I was a touch older than its target audience, but because of my well nourished inner child, I watched it anyway. But the issue is that the audience has changed over the past seventeen years, but this show has not. In the case of a show that I have some kind of nostalgia for, that wouldn't be an issue, but I don't have any for Zim. It's just a bloated, fifteen year late episode to me.

Basically just a random episode stretched to over an hour. Decent but not really worth the 13 year wait. Also doesn't answer the lingering questions from the show i.e. Tak

I'd describe this as Rick and Morty for a slightly younger audience. The outrageous humor lands well and it became a much more fun experience than I expected jumping in. That's from someone unfamiliar with the Invader ZIM series.
