All over the place. Would hate to call any good piece of TV "too long" (it sounds like a Gen Z excuse to me for checking on TikTok), but this is basically the definition of it (keep cashing those checks, Shonda). The wonderful Julia Garner is woefully misused in this pretentious, supercilious tale of an uncompelling journo's odyssey into a society scammer's world. And oh God, the soundtrack is shite.

Compulsively watchable. I was obsessed with this story when it first broke--it was a given I'd watch this, and it did not disappoint. I'm a huge Anna Chlumsky fan, and she lived up to every expectation. The supporting cast is mostly excellent. Writing is pretty good, but you'd really have to work to screw up a tale this great. Julia Garner...she never seemed quite comfortable in her Anna impersonation. That accent--what is it? It ain't German (I know lots of Germans), not even by way of Russia.

"Anna should be here right now with us!" - What? Why? She's a criminal & you broke the story.

The underlying story here is interesting, and I'm glad I learned about it. That's enough to make the show good, but the show does not make the most of its great source material. It's too long and the decision to tell the story of the journalist telling the story of Anna was just bad.

Interesting at first, but became dull later. Might change the rating after watching final episodes. Edit: Might be really good, ended really bad.

one of the most unbearable shows to watch ever. it's literally torture to have to sit through this pile of chain of impossible events. whoever green lit this should be hanged. and if you think there is an ounce of intelligence in this show, I'm sorry, but you're dumb af.

Entertaining, well-constructed and we’ll acted tale of a wannabe who took things surprisingly far. The only two knock I have is Garner’s accent and the soundtrack. The writing has some real sparkle and wit. Negative reviews I have read do not seem substantive. This is quality entertainment and really makes you think about how human relations can be “hacked” to achieve things via fraudulent means.

I desperately looked for any hint of nuance in this farce of a show. I like Julia Garner, but Shonda Rhimes' efforts to make me admire a despicable, shameless and unhinged piece of human garbage - and, let's not forget, hate her victims - is as disturbing as anything Leni Riefenstahl might have produced under a 1,000-year Reich. Set fire to Shondaland.
