I love this anime so much. I love it I love it I love it. It's made with so much respect for the original manga and the art of making anime itself. The characters are delightful, the world is delightful, this whole show is a delight. Catch me praying for a season two and eagerly awaiting the English manga release.

Finally, exactly what I want to see from Masaaki Yuasa - him adapting someone else's work and giving it his unique visual spin. Eizouken features a trio of lovable leads trying to get their art out into the world, and Yuasa infuses it with his love for the medium - the same love these girls show. It's funny, it's heartwarming, it's a good time overall. And wow, is "Easy Breezy" one of the best intro songs ever.

Non-traditional designs, non-traditional animation style, non-traditional focus even for an It's My Special Interest show, and a plot that bounces around because it wants to show you every single aspect of the art of animation and every single thing in these girls' heads. This could easily be Very Yuri, they develop close and emotionally intimate relationships, but there's no time for romance when you're spending all-nighters getting the last key frames in! A very fun and worthwhile time.

Brilliant visualizations of imagination and creativity; a trio of interesting and loveable characters who break from pretty much every convention of the "Japanese schoolgirl" trope; a story about passion and dedication for ones craft; a fundamental breath of fresh air in the anime world.
