loved it

I watched neither The Originals nor The Vampires Diaries, so I came into Legacies blind. The show is alright in its first season. There's a compelling season arc that incorporates a monster-of-the-week format well. The characters are a mixed bag, which mainly comes down to patchy writing that indulges teen/YA relationship clichés. Hopefully it will find a more steady footing in its 2nd season.
