It's like Azumanga Daioh except much less funnier.

Often it's compared to Seinfeld, but unlike Seinfeld, most of the jokes aren't clever or funny (if there even is a joke to begin with) and often rely on some lame "slice of life" crap, bland references or some banal attempt at being cute. I take absolutely no joy in watching people sit around for 10 minutes talking about food with no punchline. Familiarity is good for creating structure for a joke, but it shouldn't be the entire joke in of itself.
