Alice Chaplin and her family move to a gated community in London and find themselves in a world of high expectations, middle-class pretensions and competitive parenting. When Alice fears that her daughter Molly will fail the entrance exam for the prestigious Chelsea College for Girls, she decides to take drastic measures to make sure the family can keep up with the Joneses.

On the surface, May Contain Nuts has a basic plot and TV production value, especially with regards to the shot composition; close-ups and cuts. Luckily the film is more than the sum of its parts. The absurdity of the plot and the characters' general ambivalence play into the comedy really well. The commentary of class perception and divide is mildly hyperbolic but relatively accurate, as is the glossed over racism. Henderson (Alice) & Williams (Ruby) are great. Good, for what it is.
