Maybe they should have taken a bit more time to unravel the plot, but that's the only remark I can give. All the leading characters perform far above average, the plot is solid and the murders are disturbingly perfect and imaginative. This is an almost perfect crime thriller that really caught my attention for the full 2.5 hours without one boring second. From beginning till end the story doesn't let you go.

Commendably, the original (and best) Messiah still stands up today, despite the fact virtually every serial-killer mini-series since has stolen much from the format. Even though I remembered who the killer was from the off the second viewing was still captivating, although the backstory linking him to Red now seems more than a bit far-fetched.
