This show has some episodes that are fantastic, and some episodes that are dull filler. The VFX are incredible, and the cast is good. I like the big moments in the show and the way it ended, but there was a little too much boring stuff in the middle. Exciting to see what they do for a season 2 though.

The supposedly grown adult characters in the modern timeline are written without any characterization; constantly throwing tantrums and their motivations and attitudes flip flopping from moment to moment.

I'll credit the writers w/ 1 thing: it took me about 7 episodes to realize that the show's so-called "researchers" (both Monarch & the 1950s's bozo heroes) are spending a lot of $$ doing mostly F*K ALL. At least Monarch admits all it's doing is acting as a "monitor". Adhering to DEI mandates, it also gets more eye-rollingly Woke as it goes (no way in hell will the black heroine turn bad; she also turns out to be bi; tech geniuses are black women; White - but not Japanese - racism is highlighted)

Probably twice as long as it needed to be to tell the story it wanted to tell, but if you enjoy the Godzilla/Kong Universe movies, you may as well check this one out.

A flawed, and unbalanced show that requires you to turn off your brain. It's okay. The timeline is basically split into two periods: the 1950s and the 2010s, following a family drama. The 1950s time period is more tightly-written than the 2010s. The CGI is great, but don't expect tons of monsters across the show.

I have no familiarisation or fondness for Godzilla, but this series was surprisingly solid
