Watching the original Japanese series as warm-up to the Filipino remake Saving Grace (2024- ). Fairly adorable series, with all the emotional blackmail such series relies on. A little slow and sentimental, especially during the later episodes, but when it wanted to it brought the warm feeling.

One of the best Asian series I've ever seen. Don't make a habit of telling characters on screen what to do but this one made me do it (it was "run NOW"), great acting (esp the child, she is amazing) well told, balanced, realistic ending, emotive but in a good way. ADDED ON EDIT.....it must be 3 years or more since I watched this and it still comes back to me at odd moments like now. Score raised from 97 to 100, no other piece of cinema sticks in my head like this one!
