In the boxy aspect ratio, conservative style, and sanitized yet salacious content, some of these Lifetime movies function somewhat interestingly as updates of old Hollywood potboilers. This one's light on story with a choppy plotty feel anyway, highlights of the real story amped up with menacing smiles and the like. Manages some affecting moments on parental complacency and as "Lifetime trash" it's pretty entertaining. If only Olivia de Havilland had been allowed to wrap herself in rotten meat.
