This was a very goofy mystery that falls apart a bit towards the end. For some reason the finale has a car chase, foot chase, and an explosion; it was all just so ridiculous and unneeded.

Helen Hayes' last film is a bit of a slow mess. She gets a few moments to shine, but the mystery simply isn't very engaging. Bette Davis seems even closer to death, though she still had a few films left in her.
