I feel bad giving this rating, since this show was filmed in my city, and several friends of mine were involved as background actors or crew members, but this is a limp, jumbled attempt to continue a guilty pleasure franchise.

Is it as good as the movies? No, but it's still entertaining, and has a cast of likeable characters. I enjoyed the show for what it was, and was disappointed when it got canceled. Well, here's hoping they make a National Treasure 3.

Two episodes in, Nation Treasure: Edge of History is shaping up to not only be thoroughly disappointing but a painfully contrived, badly-written, checkbox-ticking affair that is (so far) devoid of the charm and heart that defines the films. Given up 10 minutes into episode 4. The dialogue is painfully, especially between the 2 female leads, Olivera (aka discount Zendaya) & Reed (aka generic sassy black BFF who makes a bad show worse every time she talks).
