Very well made, generous amounts of period footage enlivened with seemingly well-done reenactments (and in colour to relieve the B&W period feel). A note of gloom exists throughout - may be justified as the treaty, supposed to end World War forever, was a total failure. Its harsh terms encouraged Germany to seek Justice by setting up WW2... and the Japanese, allies in WW1, to believe they were shortchanged despite being then signed on with the winners. Italy too, if the doc is to be believed.
