Stylistically it's bland and I thought the random facts about incarceration were overly tacky and unneccessary. Looking past that, I think there's a solid narrative being told across multiple characters that range from earnest reconciliation to resentment of their path in life where each conveys something interesting about the aftermath of imprisonment. The narratives the series chooses to stick with are overly padded, but I find enough interesting about this to say I liked it.
