Wanes greatly in the later seasons but some of the early stuff is pretty funny. A mostly talented cast is put through ridiculous scenarios and what seems like a lot of ad-libbing ensures.

All of the officers are great goofball characters. The recurring characters in the community at large are even more out there, and are often the highlight of the individual episodes. Biggest knock is that the stories are forgettable, but even that doesn't detract too much for how funny the show is.
