River Monsters

Contrary to the aim of the program, it shows how mundane our current world is, as all of the big and scary predators and monsters have been hunted to extinction by humans in the past, leaving very few "unknown" creatures to be caught. And of those creatures, it's usually just a big fish of human size. That's usually it. The decent interest of the show then lies in the investigation of local myths and the hunt for the creature.

You can't help but be entertained by some goofball wading around looking for giant angry fish.
