This story about a rustic pioneer farming life was mostly entertaining. Christopher Walken played a sometimes gruff character with his usual flair, Glen Close gave a fine performance as his mail order bride. It was also nice to see Jack Palance in his role. Sometimes humorous look at the struggles of country living in a small community, and people thrust together by circumstance and learning to adapt to each other for better or worse.
