As someone who grew up in Halifax, this was a topic that was shoved into our faces a lot in school and elsewhere - which explains why this film exists. That said, this film is heavily fictionalized and as such much of the drama is pretty lame and even ridiculous at times - did we really need a subplot about German spies in Halifax? Or make the French look incompetent? Aside from that, much of the plot struck me as very trite and boring, with much of cast feeling like their story is half-told.
