as an architect it is funny to listen his buildings from Gehry, himself. On the otherhand i still don't like most of his ideas.

Although I always like watching Sydney Pollack, and Gehry comes across as a likeable enough architect, the documentary itself is only fair, and this viewer at least did not feel as though any great insights were imparted. On the other hand, missed the start.

cool how Gehry's abstract, incessant scribblings sometimes resulted in monumental works of architecture. Disarmingly self-effacing (< what a phrase!), he gets nifty inspiration from water, fish, or a snippet from Bosch. A typical Gehry house trips me out, probably the only profligate thing I'd indulge in if I was stupid rich. The score was great, especially during the wonderfully copious, sumptuous shots of the Guggenhiem Bilbao. As a fellow Canadian, his evident love of hockey "scores" with me!

"Sketches ultimately allows the controversial, breathtakingly unusual buildings themselves to make the case for the architect's inimitable greatness." - Nick Schager

How apt that Pollack and Gehry be friends: they're both practitioners of extremely expensive art forms, and they both have made a name for themselves against odds that were quite long. Informative and compelling

Not much of a story, really, but interesting nonetheless.
