Cliché melodrama about so-called "high school life" and "bond between buddies", two favourite selling points of Japanese anime, with predictable characters. Overused background music, which is a bit disturbing. The second part better than the first on this point though. The use of intertitles seemed to expose the director's inability to manage visual expression.
