Trigger basically takes the strangest parts from Kill la Kill and makes an anime consisting solely of that wrapped around a weird romance plot. And you know what? It's amazing. The short length helps, avoiding the dawdling and repetitiveness of most anime.

Not the experience I thought I was going to have coming into it! It's an odd mix of frenetic comedy with moments of genuine drama, and how much the two gel is going to be *extremely* subjective. For me, it was wobbly along the way but ultimately came together, with the ending doing a lot of the heavy lifting. Before you watch this, you should be familiar with Studio Trigger's other work, especially Kill la Kill and Little Witch Academia.

Surprisingly, nearly never overstays its welcome. Trigger's brand of humor really gels well with the short anime format.
