Obviously this score is more for the play itself than the video representation of it per se. Intermittently brilliant, probably a little overlong (come on guys, the dog song could go). The consensus seems to be that the first act is a lot better than the second, and apart from maybe "Putting it Together" i have to agree. I think the problem is that, to me the play's real peak, emotionally and song-wise, comes with "Finishing the Hat" and the rest inevitably feels a bit anti-climactic.

Why couldn't we just see Act 1? The second act gets into uninteresting territory and drops off in quality.

A wonderful production of a great musical. Granting insight in the process of creativity and supporting it with great music.

I loved the first half, with Seurat and the painting, but the second half left me cold.

The finest work of musical theatre I have ever seen.
