Passable romantic comedy shows promise in its early stage as a PLANES, TRAINS...-lite, but soon unfolds into a pretty dreary (deliberate?) paraphrase of the Stanwyck-MacMurray vehicle REMEMBER THE NIGHT; desperate attempts by Payton and VelJohnson to add earthy life to proceedings mostly falls flat, and Murray's bizarre role as mystical guardian angel is a supremely odd drop of whimsy which the film cannot sustain.
